Wolf & Mountain Lion (Cougar) Sightings

Having spent a great deal of time in the woods and on the waters in our great State of Maine, we believe beyond a reasonable doubt that both the Wolf and Mountain Lion exist in our state. While they maybe wandering, traveling or released I don’t know. We do however encourage reintroduction of both species, either natural or with the help of Fish and Game. Studies show the wolf would reduce coyote populations and help increase our deer herd. If you have sighted a wolf or coyote we would like to know about it.
I for one attempted to protect the last known wolf that was killed in Maine near Alligator Lake – we had seen and tracked the animal for over a year, yet it was taken by a trapper in 1996, drop a note on your thoughts or sightings alligatorcamps@aol.com

Selected Reading Works
We order our supplies and reference materials from Aplenbooks www.alpenbooks.com/alpen/

They are a great and easy to work with company. We have listed a few reference materials or books that help understand our fish, wildife or outdoor program. Mr. Tom Brown of Tracker School writes a number of both children and adult books on survival and life in the woods. They are truly excellent and easy to read.
